Wairarapa is by no means a large wine producing region, but what it lacks in size it makes up in quality. Some of New Zealand’s best and most expensive wines come from this region. The small town of Martinborough is the centre of the wine industry in Wairarapa.
Martinborough is just over an hour north of Wellington, New Zealand’s capital and centre of government. With numerous high quality wineries, restaurants and accommodation options, Martinborough is the ideal place to get away for a few days.
